With Care Staff Services we have a rigorous recruitment process. Each staff member has a phone interview and then invited in for an in-depth interview. Each carer is put through rigorous reference checks, a fully enhanced DBS check and training which includes induction all the mandatory subjects but we also add other subjects through the year that will help the carers better understand how to support and care for our service users. They are put on shadowing and assessed before they are able to work independently. We also carry out quizzes on a regular basis to refresh their knowledge and top up on training where needed.
At Care Staff Services we put an emphasis on training and improving our staff knowledge and understand of different mental and health conditions. All our staff are put through a thorough training programme which continues on throughout their employment. Each staff member given and induction that explains our company culture, our values and our mission. They are then put on a course of the 8 mandatory subjects:
Other courses that we also provide our carers training on are End of life Care, Stoma Care, Peg Feeding, Break Away Training, Dementia. We are always looking to help our staff improve and further their career in care by helping them through NVQ courses and enroll them on to Level 2, Level 5 and 6 if they wish to pursue this route.
